With more than 30 years of experience in health and welfare, Elise Thorpe serves as a Principal and Producer at Lovitt & Touché, a Marsh McLennan Agency. She has a passion for partnering with CEOs, CFOs and HR professionals to develop a strategic benefits package that helps retain and attract key talent, aligns with the company’s culture and controls costs. Elise also actively promotes corporate well-being programs, providing resources and solutions regarding the physical, financial, emotional and other dimensions of employee well-being.
Elise joined Lovitt & Touché, MMA in 2007 as a Producer. She has worked with companies in various industries, some of which include Construction, Property Management, and FinTech. Her clients range in size from 50 to 4,000 employees, many with locations in multiple states due to either organic growth or growth through acquisitions. She has assisted her clients with the full spectrum of funding arrangements from fully insured to level funded and unbundled self-funding, including referenced-based pricing.
Elise is a reputable thought leader in the industry, speaking on “Creating Value With Your Benefits: How to Gain a Competitive Edge In The Talent War” to “Top Trending Benefits: Cost Containment and Attracting Talent” and “How to Create a Culture of Well-Being” at various local and national groups, including the Arizona Builders Alliance, Construction Finance Management Association, Arizona State Society of Human Resource Management, Arizona State Bar Conference, Employee Benefit News Conference, and the Western Pension & Benefits Conference and others.
Elise also facilitates three HR Leadership Roundtables, one that is just for the Construction industry, and the other two are mixed industries. These Roundtables provide senior and other high-level HR professionals a safe environment to discuss situational opportunities and how to approach them as well as share best-practices, resources, vendors and other HR trends with their peers. Due to her personal and professional passion for well-being, Elise also has led an HR Wellness Roundtable since 2011, exposing employers in the Valley to various well-being vendors, new concepts and resources in the industry as well as best-practices to help HR professionals create a culture of health for their organization.
Elise is involved in the community in a variety of capacities and was named one of Arizona’s Most Influential Women in 2021. Elise served on the Board of Directors for the Construction Finance Management Association (CFMA) (2017-2020) and co-chaired the Women of CFMA during that time. In 2019, she was awarded the Valley of the Sun Member Under the Sun award for the association. She continues to be a member and is active on the Executive of the Year Committee. Elise also served as President for the Association of Corporate Growth (2020-2022), Vice President of Ambassadors (2018-2020), and on the Board of Directors for the past 6 years. She also chairs the organization’s Women in Business Leadership group. Additionally, Elise has been on the Executive Leadership Committee for 50/50 Women on Boards for the last several years.
Elise earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of New Mexico, and she received an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona. She lives in Chandler with her husband, Cliff, and their three dogs. Her son, Dalton, is a Structural/Civil Engineer and lives in Chandler, and her son, Connor, is getting his PhD in Material Sciences Engineering at Iowa State University.
